Angels and Demons
For years humans have been deceived:
"Angels are holy and represent good,
While demons are corrupt and represent evil."
But this was perceived in bad blood…
Angels have enslaved the human race,
Tricking them into thinking they were free.
What they did not know was that they were being used,
And the angels condemned the humans, you see.
The demons were simply outraged,
"The humans must live a free life!
You angels have gone too far this time!
Prepare to fall in this newborn strife!"
The angels, cunning as they were,
Tricked the humans into helping them.
"Humans, these demons are evil.
We are good; help us defeat them."
The humans, without hearing the demons,
Grew outraged that an "evil" was near.
"These demons will perish among our blades,
For no evil will stand in our way!"
The angels grinned mischievously,
As the humans were slaying their saviors.
The demons tried to warn them,
But the humans took their heads as souvenirs.
"No evil shall withstand our might!
We are human, and we serve the good!
You are evil, and therefore must die!
You evil beasts will perish for good!"
The angels laughed wickedly,
As their plan had worked.
They now have enslaved a race,
And made them do the dirty work.
To this day, angels are known as good.
To this day, demons are known as evil.
Humans have been fooled since time began,
And fight their saviors from the upheaval.

Back in that time
When all was alright.
But since you've appeared
My ways, they have turned.
Cruelty is better;
That is what I have learned.
A demon?
It is quite possibly true.
I am utterly evil.
I am rich. I am vain.
I will only make contracts
If I stand something to gain.
Unto you I shall place
A malevolent curse
That may be only removed
By something much worse.
My revenge may be lifted
By Death's hand itself,
But beware of his deals;
He cares not about wealth.

It’s no picnic being a creature of pure celestial intent. I followed Phil, my charge, into the living room and stood on the cat’s tail. The animal jumped and yowled. I flailed and my wing bumped a vase, knocking it over. More flailing and I bumped a lamp too. “Bollocks.”
Phil lunged and steadied the lamp. He looked at the shattered vase and frowned. “Mary? I’m telling you there’s something here.”
“Not this again. Oh!” A woman walked into the room and paused when she saw the remains of the vase. Her hands went to her mouth.

Fear of the Dark?
I laugh at those who would make offerings to demons,
especially without knowledge of the weighty risks.
And I doubly despise those who would worship the darkness,
For I doubt they have ever looked into the abyss...
Yet for all my sacrifice and murderous intent.
My mind is clear and human at its core.
And quite unlike you feeble worms;
being human is what I adore.
For a human is undoubtedly a creature of faith,
and my belief is in the evolution of years.
A thorough-bred sense of genetic superiority,
that allows me to circumvent my spiritual fears
So do not mistake me, when I make my offerings.
For I pledge to my demons rather willingly.

Every time someone hears of an "angel", they immediately think of something that represents good; holiness; kind; pure; etc., whereas every time someone hears of a "demon", they immediately think of something that represents evil; unholiness; cruel; corrupt; etc.
Well, what if it was actually the other way around? The entire time, angels were the true evil and the demons were the true good? That's what this piece is about.
I've been wanting to do this type of piece for a long time, but due to school and my life keeping me busy, I haven't had the time.
